Brief

David was looking for us to professionalise his career through branding — something that would help him when looking for larger gigs and events. He needed something that had a quality finish yet represented his bluegrass/soul style of music. As he plays both guitar and piano, he was keen to see some element of either instrument in the overall design.

Solution

We met up with David to hear his music and learn more about where he is looking to be playing. His warm personality shone through and we were keen to replicate this through the colour scheme in his branding.

Result

We began our branding process and researched into the kind of demographics that David will be looking to attract. This gave us a good idea of what qualities they look for in a brand and helped to influence the overall design. We opted to use the piano keys to create David's initials — a touch of class, whilst also having a warm and approachable colour scheme.

The initial concept designs that we presented to David to choose from. We make our concept designs distinguishable so that there is a more clear path to take when one is chosen.
After discussion, we decided on the above concept. Moving into development we varied the colour schemes and tweaked the overall dimensions of the design.
We created a logo pack for David to use, alongside images to showcase the overall look and feel of the new brand.

We presented David with various ways his new brand could be used; both on a rustic business card and CD sleeve.
